September 22: Cuteness overload! Anyss is a small dog with big dog boldness and confidence. She loves people and other dogs (wrestling with my 40 lb. BC is a favorite activity) and cats – although my cats do not love her back because she wants to wrestle with them too (they are about the same size as Anyss). She can’t be too bad since they have not yet pulled out the claws to teach her a lesson.

Anyss was picked up as a stray so her background is unknown. We predict that she will stay small – with an estimated adult size of 20 lbs +/-. We have had a lot of fun trying to guess the mix that produced this little spitfire, but in the end, it really doesn’t matter since she is such a wonderful dog. Anyss is a very smart dog and loves to train with positive reinforcement (food and/or toys). She knows sit, we are working on stay, and she walks fairly well on a leash. Just for fun, she learned to put her two front feet in the dog food bowl in just 2 training sessions. She listens attentively to you and has a fairly good recall if there are no distractions - but if you disconnect from her, she will go and find something else to do. Anyss is still very much a puppy, so her new family should plan on continuing her housebreaking training and distracting her from puppy play-biting and chewing.

Anyss is a wonderful mix of high and low energy. She could be awesome little sport dog. She has a solid and well-balanced conformation, plus a bold and confident attitude which would serve her well whether you want to participate in agility, rally, obedience or flyball. She is too small to be a jogging partner, but she will join you in many other activities. Then when you want some cuddle time, Anyss loves to sit in your lap.

Anyss would do well with an active owner that would provide the training that will make her a good canine citizen and allow her to participate in a dogsport, and of course, give her lots of cuddle time. If you are interested in learning more about Anyss, please contact her foster mom at jklrsn@gmail.com. Anyss is being fostered near Roanoke. The BRBCR adoption fee is $250.

Anyss will be spayed and fully vetted before placement.
